Delete your CashBooklet account

This page is for the CashBooklet app (com.cashbooklet.app) by CashBooklet. You can delete your account yourself in the app, or ask us by email.

Option 1 — in the app

1. Open CashBooklet and sign in.
2. Go to More → Account & privacy → Request account deletion.
3. Enter your password. If you signed up with Google and have no password, we email you a 6-digit code to enter instead.
4. We email a confirmation link to your account’s email address. The link works once and expires after 24 hours.
5. Open the link and press Yes, delete my account.

Option 2 — by email

If you cannot use the app, write to [email protected] from the email address of your CashBooklet account and ask us to delete it. We will reply to that address to confirm it is really you before anything is deleted.

What happens when you confirm

• At once: your account is closed. You are signed out and cannot sign in again, and your phone stops receiving notifications.
• For 30 days: your data is kept, untouched, in case the deletion was a mistake or someone else did it. Write to [email protected] within those 30 days and we can restore the account and everything in it. There is no undo button in the app.
• After 30 days: an automatic job erases the data permanently. Nobody, including us, can bring it back.

What is deleted

• Your account: name, email address, phone number, password, your link to Google sign-in, your notification settings and your phone’s notification token.
• Every business in which you are the only person, with everything in it: books, entries, contacts (customers, suppliers, staff), invoices, items and stock, expense groups, day-close counts, receipt photos and other attachments, book photos, the logo and generated reports.

What is kept

• Businesses you share with other people. They keep working for the others. Entries you recorded stay in their books, but no longer carry your name. If you are the only Owner of a shared business, the app asks you to make someone else an Owner before you can delete your account.
• A record that the deletion happened — its dates, a masked form of your email address (for example a***@example.com) and how many records were erased. It contains none of your books.
• Backups. Routine database backups are kept for up to 14 days, so erased data can remain in a backup for up to 14 more days before it ages out.

Deleting only some of your data

You do not have to close your account to remove things. In the app you can void entries and archive contacts and books. To have specific data erased completely, write to [email protected].
